Investigation typically combines geological mapping, drilling and coring, and sampling for testing. SGE has carried out sand and clay deposit studies, rock quality mapping at cement and aggregate operations, and quarry investigations for both government departments and private operators.

Mineral occurrence work has been carried out for government agencies including Jabatan Mineral dan Geosains and Agensi Nuklear Malaysia, and for private mineral and industrial clients.

SGE personnel have carried out monitoring well installation programmes at municipal landfill sites and for saltwater intrusion studies. SGE does not hold or claim environmental consultancy accreditation.
